THE GOODNESS OF
LEGUMES & WHOLE GRAINS
The Woods family have been growing legumes (Chickpeas & Faba Beans) and whole grain sorghum for decades. Legumes and sorghum were introduced to the farming system as important rotational crops during the 1990s, and since that time these crops have become increasingly important in delivering a balanced diet for people worldwide.

Chickpeas are part of the legume family. Naturally high in protein for sustainable energy, and high in fibre which promotes gut health.

Faba Beans are from the same family as broad beans. Naturally high in protein for sustainable energy.

Sorghum is part of the whole grain cereal family, an ancient grain that is high in fibre, which promotes gut health.

THE WONDERS
OF SORGHUM
Sorghum is a renowned whole grain and ancient grain. High in natural antioxidants and protein, and low in fat, it is a gluten-free and allergen-free grain. Similar to legumes, sorghum is predominantly grown under “dry-land” conditions, and plays a crucial role in maintaining farmer’s economic viability by providing a sustainable, cost-effective, non-GMO alternative summer crop to corn and cotton.

POWERHOUSE PLANTS
Chickpeas and Faba Beans are a vital part of crop rotations on our farm. These crops naturally rejuvenate the earth by releasing valuable nitrogen into the soil as they grow, thereby helping to maintain a sustainable farming system that is better for our planet.
